Stair Tread Installation in Virginia Beach, VA
Turn a tired carpeted staircase into a stunning wood focal point. Hardwood and retrofit treads, painted risers and stair nosing, cut to fit every step.
Stair Tread Installation
Your staircase, reimagined
The staircase is the first thing many guests see. Replacing worn carpet with hardwood or retrofit treads instantly updates a foyer, and it is one of the most requested projects in two-story homes across Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. It is also one of the trickiest flooring jobs, because every step is a slightly different size.
We measure and cut each tread and riser individually so the steps fit tight to the skirt boards and walls. We can match your new LVP or hardwood floor with coordinating stair nosing, finish risers in crisp white or wood, and install treads on landings so the whole staircase flows with the rest of the house.

Based on our lifestyle (multiple dogs, teenage boys) and usage, he gave us recommendations on what kind of flooring to look for… The work is impeccable, the workers were professional, very nice, and cleaned up after themselves. It has been 7 months since my floors have been installed and they look the same today as they did on the day they were installed.
ANR completed two projects: installed retrofit stair treads for our staircase and wood flooring for the stair landing, and later installed luxury vinyl planks in a new closet. Both projects included the necessary trim work. Jorge takes pride in his work and it shows. He did an exceptional job at a fair price on both projects.
Jorge did a fantastic job on hardwood floors that appeared to be impossibly stained. This house had been a pet friendly rental for the last 19 years. These floors now look brand new!! Great attention to detail, professional, great price. Highly recommend!
FAQ
Stair Tread Installation FAQ
Answers to common questions from Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads homeowners.
What are retrofit stair treads?
Retrofit treads are designed to cap over existing stair steps after the carpet and bullnose are removed. They are a cleaner, faster way to get hardwood stairs in most homes, and a favorite of our customers.
Can you match my stairs to my new LVP floor?
Yes. Many LVP lines have matching stair nosing, or we can pair the floor with coordinating wood treads. One Virginia Beach customer had LVP installed downstairs, then upstairs and on the stair treads, and said everything “looks perfect.”
How long does a stair installation take?
A standard straight staircase usually takes one to two days. Winding stairs, landings and paint or stain on risers can add time.
Are hardwood stairs slippery?
Finished hardwood is smooth, so many families with kids or pets add a runner or treads with grip. We can recommend options during your estimate.
Can you refinish my existing wood stairs instead?
Yes. If your stairs are already wood, sanding and refinishing them to match your floors is often the best value. See our stair repair and refinishing services.
