Chesapeake flooring
Flooring built for Chesapeake homes
Chesapeake is one of the largest cities in Virginia by land area, and its homes range from older brick ranches in South Norfolk and Indian River to large new construction in Hickory, Grassfield and Great Bridge. ANR Flooring LLC has served Chesapeake families since 2017, with honest communication, careful preparation and close attention to detail.
A lot of Chesapeake sits low with a high water table, and many subdivisions are built on concrete slabs. That makes moisture testing and the right product choice critical. We regularly install waterproof LVP and engineered hardwood over slabs in Greenbrier, Great Bridge and Grassfield, and we refinish solid hardwood in established neighborhoods in Western Branch and Indian River.
Two-story homes are common here, too, so stair makeovers are among our favorite Chesapeake projects: swapping worn carpet for hardwood or retrofit treads that tie the whole first floor together.

What we see in Chesapeake homes
Every city in Hampton Roads has its own housing styles and flooring challenges. Here's what matters in Chesapeake.
High water table, slab foundations
Many Chesapeake homes are slab-on-grade with a high water table. We moisture-test the slab and use vapor barriers and slab-rated LVP or engineered hardwood.
Big open floor plans
Newer homes in Hickory, Grassfield and Great Bridge have large open layouts. We plan board direction and transitions so long runs look seamless from room to room.
Stairs in two-story homes
Carpet-to-hardwood stair conversions are some of our most requested Chesapeake upgrades, especially when paired with new LVP downstairs.
Established neighborhoods
Brick ranches in South Norfolk, Indian River and Western Branch often have original hardwood that refinishes beautifully.

We had Jorge Regalado replace our entire downstairs flooring with luxury vinyl plank. He did an amazing job, and even took the time to correct an underlying subfloor issue by our back door instead of just covering it up. We recently asked him to come back and lay a coordinating luxury vinyl plank throughout our upstairs and on the stair treads. Everything looks perfect.
ANR completed two projects: installed retrofit stair treads for our staircase and wood flooring for the stair landing, and later installed luxury vinyl planks in a new closet. Both projects included the necessary trim work. Jorge takes pride in his work and it shows. He did an exceptional job at a fair price on both projects.
Was on time to come out and give the quote, was a very reasonable price… was able to fit me into his schedule 3 days later, was there exactly when he said he would be, had everything with him that he needed… cleaned up after himself, very friendly and very professional.
FAQ
Chesapeake flooring FAQ
Common questions from homeowners in Chesapeake, VA.
Do you serve all of Chesapeake?
Yes. We work throughout Chesapeake, including Great Bridge, Greenbrier, Western Branch, Deep Creek, Hickory, Grassfield, Indian River, South Norfolk, Edinburgh, Fentress, Riverwalk and Cahoon Plantation.
What is the best flooring for a Chesapeake home on a concrete slab?
Waterproof luxury vinyl plank and engineered hardwood are usually the best choices over a slab. Because of Chesapeake's high water table, we always test slab moisture and use the right vapor barrier before installing.
Can you put hardwood on the stairs in my Great Bridge or Greenbrier home?
Absolutely. We install hardwood and retrofit stair treads with painted or stained risers, and we can match them to new LVP or hardwood on your main floor.
My floors are cupping. Is that a moisture problem?
Cupping, where board edges rise higher than the centers, almost always means moisture is coming from below or from a leak. We find the cause first, then repair or replace the affected boards.
Do you refinish hardwood floors in older Chesapeake neighborhoods?
Yes. Homes in South Norfolk, Indian River and Western Branch often have solid oak floors that can be sanded and refinished to look new again.
How long does it take to install LVP in a Chesapeake home?
Many first-floor LVP installs take two to three days depending on square footage, tear-out and leveling. Single rooms are often done in a day.
Do you offer free estimates in Chesapeake?
Yes. We provide free in-home flooring estimates anywhere in Chesapeake. Call (757) 275-3346 or request one online.
How far is ANR Flooring from Chesapeake?
We are based in Virginia Beach, just a short drive up I-64 or Indian River Road, so Chesapeake is part of our core service area.
